About the Role

As a key part of our team, you’ll play a leading role in planning, managing, and delivering high‑quality cabling schemes safely, sustainably, and on time. You’ll have full accountability for project success — from design and delivery through to commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate project documentation (progress, diaries, etc.).
  • Prepare and present reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interpret and challenge technical inputs and designs.
  • Guide teams to deliver feasible and effective solutions.
  • Ensure reporting supports informed, cost‑effective decisions.
  • Champion Zero Harm and stay current with legislation.
  • Lead safety tours, incident investigations, and RAMS reviews.
  • Maintain a live H&S plan and ensure workforce competency.
  • Empower teams to manage work safely and effectively.
  • Mentor and upskill team members.
  • Manage resource plans and coordinate internal functions.
  • Set team goals and development plans.
  • Build high‑performing teams through training and motivation.
  • Own the Risk Register and lead reviews.
  • Escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
  • Manage subcontractors and ensure timely resource delivery.
  • Align procurement plans with project schedules.
  • Drive certification readiness and KPI achievement.
  • Lead audits and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain resource‑loaded schedules.
  • Implement productivity controls and milestone tracking.
  • Control budget and resource efficiency.
  • Manage commercial changes and reporting routines.
  • Understand and deliver contractual obligations.
  • Promote consistent digital data use and standards.
  • Ensure team training and adoption of digital tools.
Qualifications
  • Experience of working on a variety of project types.
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery.
  • In‑depth understanding and practical experience of standard forms of contracts.
  • Proficient in commercial/project management communications.
  • Experience in implementing safe systems of work.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with all levels of the organisation.
  • Communicate new concepts and ideas to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Effective team‑management skills which empower, influence & inspire others to build effective teams, providing mentoring and support to members where required.
  • Good knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
  • Record of a solution‑based approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the team.
  • Discuss ideas and plans competently and with confidence.
  • Support and promote project diversity and inclusion.
  • Recognise and drive personal development with a learning mindset.
  • Member of a professional management body (e.g., APM).
  • Proficient on O365.
  • Holds a current driving licence.
  • Formal qualification in project management or equivalent experience.
  • CSCS and SMSTS or equivalent.
