These projects include building and upgrading substations and transmission lines, essential components to ensure electricity and gas are delivered safely and reliably. By working closely with internal teams and external partners, you’ll help drive the UK’s energy transition, contributing to National Grid’s sustainability goals.

  • Assist with Budget & Reporting: Help monitor project spending, prepare financial reports, and ensure budget compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct Site Visits & Quality Checks: Participate in site inspections to review construction progress, ensure safety and quality standards are met, and engage with local stakeholders to gather feedback.

This role is based in the Bristol office and offers flexible, hybrid working. You will be required to travel to site locations, including regular overnight stays away from home. Annually you’re expected to travel more than 10,000 miles for business across England and Wales. You’ll also attend National Grid Training Centre at Eakring, Newark. A company car is provided due to travel and site presence requirements.

  • Have or be predicted to achieve two A-Levels at grade C or above (one of which must be in Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Computing) OR BTEC National Certificate OR Diploma Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Computing or Business at Grade Merit or Distinction.
  • You must already have a full valid UK driving license at the point of application.
  • Be flexible to travel as required, including frequent overnight stays in pre-booked accommodation.
