Customer Delivery Driver - Clay Cross Extra

Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will be the face of Tesco on the road, delivering to customers' homes and providing friendly, helpful service. This role involves driving as well as customer interaction, with flexible hours and paid rates starting from £13.35 per hour (rising to £14.56 inside the M25). New colleagues are offered a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with options to work as few as 12 hours if desired.

Availability windows are provided to schedule contracted hours with three weeks’ notice of shifts. We support flexibility if your availability is close to the advertised times. Read more by clicking the relevant links.

Typical duties include delivering to customers within their time slots, communicating about substitutions, and ensuring careful handling of products and deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Delivering your part of the customer shopping trip, ensuring the van and trays are clean and tidy.
• Leaving the back yard clean and picking up litter as needed.
• Washing trays as part of the tray wash process and loading the van, checking roadworthiness.
• Discussing order changes with customers, offering refunds for anything unsatisfactory.
• Managing substitutions and ensuring customers are not charged extra for substitutions.
• Delivering within the customer’s time slot and contacting the customer if arriving early or late.
