This role ensures seamless delivery of applications through Development, Test, and Production environments using modern Continuous Delivery practices.Operating in a 24/7, mission-critical environment, you will **lead a team** focused on maintaining system resilience, accelerating deployments, and enabling innovation.**Key Responsibilities*** **Operational Excellence:** + Maintain and support Opayo applications (Payments In/Out) using advanced monitoring tools and custom scripts. + Proactively detect, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to meet stringent SLAs.* **Technical Leadership:** + Remain hands-on (approx. 80% technical) while guiding team priorities and workload. + Act as the primary technical escalation point and shape technology strategy. + Drive adoption of modern DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated patching.* **Team Leadership & Development:** + Set clear objectives, review progress, and manage performance. + Recruit, mentor, and upskill engineers to build a high-performing, collaborative team. + Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.* **Strategic Influence:** + Partner with Development, Infrastructure, and Security teams to align DevOps initiatives with organisational goals. + Champion automation and modernisation to reduce risk and accelerate delivery.**Essential Skills & Experience*** Strong hands-on experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).* Expertise in monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog).* Proven experience with automation/configuration tools (Jenkins, Gitlab and ArgoCD).* Background in high-availability, high-transaction production environments.* Experience managing and developing technical teams.**Preferred:*** Knowledge of payment gateway technologies and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS).**Qualifications*** Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.**Key Metrics*** Maintain system uptime in line with SLAs.* Ensure all releases follow defined CI/CD processes.* Active participation in on-call rotation.**Stakeholders*** Operations, Infrastructure, Network, and Database Teams* Agile Development Teams* Security Team**Location expectations** This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.**Visa Sponsorship**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our .**Benefits**:We offer an exciting, fast-paced and diverse working environment with employees of many different nationalities.
