About the Role

Shift Team Leader

Location: Parc Adfer, Deeside
Powering a cleaner future with enfinium

At enfinium, we’re not just generating energy — we’re helping build a more sustainable future. Our plants transform waste that can’t be recycled into electricity, powering thousands of homes and businesses across the UK while reducing landfill and carbon emissions.

We’re now looking for an experienced and motivated Shift Team Leader to lead from the front — ensuring our plant runs safely, smoothly and efficiently, every single day.

What’s the role all about?

As a Shift Team Leader, you’ll be at the heart of day-to-day operations, leading and supporting a team of skilled operators to ensure the safe, compliant and efficient running of the plant under all conditions.

You’ll combine strong technical knowledge with hands‑on leadership, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement. Your goal: to make sure our people and plant perform at their very best while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental and operational excellence.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead and motivate your shift team to deliver safe, efficient and reliable plant operations.
  • Champion health, safety and environmental excellence — ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Act as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP), applying and enforcing the Company Safety Rules.
  • Train, coach and develop your team in operational procedures, safety standards and equipment use.
  • Conduct performance reviews and create clear development plans to support growth and succession.
  • Oversee daily plant performance, ensuring operational targets are met and issues resolved quickly.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and maintenance teams to optimise plant performance.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, ownership and continuous improvement across your shift.
What we’re looking for
  • HND/HNC in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years’ operational or maintenance experience within power generation, EfW or a similar process-driven industry.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a technical or industrial environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a practical approach to challenges.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Calm under pressure and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to safety, teamwork and operational excellence.
