We are seeking caring and committed home care workers to support individuals in their own homes. The ideal applicant will have prior patient care experience, particularly working with elderly patients, those suffering from dementia, and those in need of hospice care. By helping our clients with everyday tasks and guaranteeing their safety and well-being, this position is essential to improving their quality of life.
- Assist with personal hygiene, such as clothing, grooming, and bathing.
- Help clients with transfers and mobility, including heavy lifting when needed.
- Prepare wholesome meals based on the dietary requirements of your clientele.
- Give patients their medications as directed and keep an eye out for any negative side effects.
- Provide company and involve clients in deep discussions and activities.
- When necessary, use behaviour management strategies to assist clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia care.
- Perform simple housekeeping duties to maintain your clients’ surroundings tidy and secure.
- Keep a record of the care given and notify the relevant medical specialists of any changes in the clients’ circumstances.
- When necessary, transport clients to social events or appointments.
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home care, or similar environments.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of providing care, such as administering medication and first aid.
- Experience in senior care, hospice care, or working with people who have dementia or Alzheimer’s.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to establish rapport with clients and their families.
- Capacity to provide compassionate care while skillfully handling difficult habits.
- Preferred to have a current UK driver’s licence.
- Physically healthy to carry out jobs that could include heavy lifting and extended standing.
- A first aid or caregiving certification is beneficial.
