A volunteer organization in the UK seeks volunteers to engage as Conversation Partners for Ukrainian learners. This role involves facilitating weekly one-hour video chats focused on practicing English and cultural exchange, providing a supportive environment. Commitment for at least 10-12 weeks is required. This flexible opportunity allows volunteers to make a meaningful impact from home.
Volunteer Online as a Conversation Partner connects ENGin volunteers with Ukrainian learners for weekly online conversation practice. Matches are 1-on-1 based on preferences, interests, and availability. ENGin supports learners and volunteers with tips, resources, and problem resolution. Every learner and volunteer is screened, and provided with training and orientation.
Since 2020, ENGin has connected thousands of Ukrainians with volunteers, and many learners report breaking the language barrier after participation. Opportunities include weekly one-hour video chats at times convenient for you, with English practice and cultural exchange.
To learn more about volunteering, register to attend one of our weekly Zoom info sessions: https://calendly.com/volunteer-training/volunteer-info-sessions. Learn more about ENGin at www.enginprogram.org/volunteer. If you have questions, contact info@enginprogram.org.
No prior tutoring experience or knowledge of Ukrainian language is required. This is a flexible and meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact from home while learning about another culture and meeting someone new.
