Regular social and networking events, both physical and virtual, will ensure that you always feel connected to your colleagues and the business.Join us, make a difference, and help shape the future of energy.Job Description:EDF Trading is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our collaborative and skilled team designing, building and running our infrastructure, platforms and systems.The IT Infrastructure at EDF Trading covers High Availability Trading systems, high performance computing (HPC), big data, public cloud and on-prem servers based in our data centres.Our systems are split between on-prem and Azure cloud, they are primarily VMWare and Windows based, but knowledge of Linux is beneficial as we also run Linux, Kubernetes and Kafka amongst many other systems.**Your Impact*** Opportunity to have outsized impact in a small team, contribute to infrastructure design and see the results of your work.* Work across a broad a range of technologies in a diverse role covering Support, project work and design.* Take ownership of complex technical issues through to resolution, collaborating with your colleagues, users and other IT Teams.* Ensure the highest level of availability and performance on critical trading infrastructure.**About the Role*** Responsible for day-to-day management, supporting, and monitoring of our server estate, comprising primarily of Windows Servers, VMWare, Azure and On-Prem Servers.* Participate in projects including upgrades, continuous improvement of our infrastructure, and collaborating with the wider business to design and deliver Infrastructure as required.* Automate common tasks and processes to reduce overhead and improve reliability.* Ensure the availability of all Infrastructure, from design, operation, and including DR and DR tests.* Monitor the enterprise environment managing availability, performance and capacity.* Management, and support of other infrastructure systems, including Backup, SAN Storage, Citrix**Essential Skills*** Broad technical knowledge of modern IT Infrastructure technologies, and strong desire to continue to learn and expand your knowledge.* Technical troubleshooting of complex issues and owning issues through to resolution.* Experience working in a complex and fast-moving environment where system availability is critical.* Ability to engage with stakeholders in IT and across the wider business and build positive and professional relationships.* In depth understanding and experience of Windows server, VMWare ESX, Microsoft Azure and related technologies (Including Active Directory, PowerShell, Failover Clustering, DFS, Entra ID, etc).**Technologies Used at EDFT*** Microsoft Windows Server version 2016 to 2025* VMWare version 8* Microsoft Azure cloud* Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Grafana* Automation via Ansible, PowerShell, bash or other scripting languages* MS Active Directory, and Entra ID* Pure Storage Flash Array and Flash Blade, Brocade Fibre Channel switches, and Cohesity backup appliances.* Configuration Management, Infrastructure as Code, and Automation* Citrix Virtual Apps and DesktopsWe are committed to equipping our employees with the tools that will enable them to fulfil their job to the highest standard.
