Job summary
A leading hospitality company in Bognor Regis is seeking a Buffet Restaurant Shift Manager to oversee team operations and ensure high guest satisfaction. The role demands strong leadership capabilities, a focus on guest experiences, and the ability to manage varied workloads. Ideal candidates will have experience in fast-paced F&B environments and skills in training and coaching. This full-time position requires 40 hours of work per week, with a focus on both guest-facing duties and internal team support.

The Shift Manager will be the main point of contact for the team during their shift in the Buffets restaurant department. Reporting to the Venue Manager, the Shift Manager will ensure daily operational plans are fulfilled by guiding tasks and objectives, and ensuring the team are in the right place at the right time to manage fluctuating guest demand while maintaining high operational standards and guest experience.
You will support and coach the team to deliver a great experience and drive key targets such as add-on sales or promotions. This is an operational, guest-facing role, with non-guest facing tasks allocated within the working week to allow you to spend the majority of your time in the venue with guests.
Typical hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7, split shifts. Breakfast shifts: 7:30am – 12:00pm; Dinner shifts: 4:00pm – 8:00pm.
- Be the main point of contact for the team during shifts in the Buffets restaurant.
- Ensure daily operational plans are fulfilled and tasks are carried out on time.
- Manage fluctuating guest demand while maintaining standards and guest experience.
- Support and coach the team to deliver great service and achieve targets such as add-on sales or promotions.
- Allocate non-guest facing tasks to ensure time is spent in the venue with guests.
- Experienced leader from a volume-led F&B environment who can support the team to deliver fantastic service.
- Focus on guest first approach; experience in training and coaching in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience leading within a busy restaurant or food environment where speed and quality balance is important.
- Confident to direct and respond in any situation while delivering consistent brand standards.
- Ability to lead, motivate and engage a team, even under high demand, and manage multiple priorities with quick adaptation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams to deliver excellent results for both colleagues and guests.
