Job summary
A retail company is seeking a Cycle Technician in Southampton to deliver high-quality bicycle repairs and customer service. You will be responsible for conducting various repairs, assembling new bikes, and providing clear advice to customers. Qualifications

- Carrying out a wide range of bicycle repairs including brake adjustments, gear tuning, wheel truing, drivetrain maintenance, and suspension servicing.
- Assembling new bicycles to manufacturer’s guidelines and ensuring they’re safe and ready for sale.
- Conducting service consultations with customers, diagnosing issues, and providing clear repair recommendations and estimates.
- Supporting customers in selecting the right parts, upgrades, and accessories for their bikes.
- Performing safety inspections to highlight and resolve potential issues.
- Maintaining high standards of quality control so every repair meets our safety and service expectations.
- Organising the workshop, managing spare parts, tools, and stock efficiently.
- Delivering excellent customer service – explaining repairs, offering advice, and ensuring every rider leaves confident in their bike.
- Skilled in bicycle mechanics, with experience repairing a wide range of bike types and components.
- Previous workshop experience as a mechanic/technician is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of bicycle brands, models, and components.
- Detail-focused with a commitment to quality and safety.
- Confident communicator with great customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Physically able to work on your feet and lift bikes when needed.
- Flexible to work evenings and weekends in line with store hours.
