Job description

We are looking for a motivated and organised CAD Technician / Surveyor to join our Consulting Team, based at our Renewables & Transport Consulting office in Bradford. Reporting directly to the Consulting Manager, this office-based role also includes attending site meetings across the UK and occasional travel within the EU.

Scope & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Carry out Swept Path Analysis (SPA) using AutoCAD software.
  • Assess, review and design loading and transport methods using CAD.
  • Produce route assessment reports, project documentation and CAD drawings.
  • Communicate directly with clients, contractors and colleagues.
  • Undertake route surveying and analysis.
  • Carry out land-based topographical surveys using calibrated instruments and surveying equipment.
Qualification & Experience
  • Qualified to A Level standard.
  • Good level of 2D AutoCAD experience (3D AutoCAD desirable but not essential).
  • Knowledge of transport and/or engineering/surveying standards and best practices.
  • Experience with CDM regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues and contractors.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and well organised.
  • Confident, articulate, numeric and an effective team player.
Additional desirable knowledge
  • Mechanical and/or Civil Engineering principles.
  • Route planning and logistics industry.
  • Planning applications and processes.
Location and conditions

The role is based at our Renewables Department in Bradford, West Yorkshire. A valid driving licence and passport are essential, as UK and occasional European travel (including overnight stays) will be required to attend site meetings and service client requirements. We offer an attractive remuneration package, dependent on experience, alongside additional benefits including a pension contribution, 28 days holiday and the option to join our holiday purchase scheme (subject to conditions).
