Job description
Overview

We are seeking a Plumber to join our Repairs and Maintenance team in Halifax. In this role you will be responsible for carrying out plumbing tasks such as repairs, installations, and diagnostics, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard. You will aim to complete tasks in a single visit whenever possible, including finishing and cleaning up. This role requires excellent customer service, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently across various locations.

Responsibilities
  • To carry out all types of plumbing repairs to both tenanted and vacant properties in accordance with job tickets, optimized appointment slots, specifications and contract drawings, in line with good practice.
  • To work with an ethos of "Right First Time" and complete repairs where practicable in one visit, with high quality workmanship and performance standards.
  • To keep records as required, in paper or electronic form.
  • To undertake measurement, quantification and procurement of materials as required.
  • To carry out work with a high regard to customer care and satisfaction, including protecting tenants’ furniture and belongings, cleaning up afterwards, and liaising with customers in a polite, friendly and helpful manner.
  • To undertake duties with respect to customers and in accordance with codes of conduct and service standards.
  • On-call/out-of-hours work as per contractual agreement.
  • To carry out appropriate risk assessments prior to starting work and protect the health, safety and welfare of yourself, tenants, colleagues and the public.
  • To work to a consistently high standard of workmanship in line with service specifications and safe working procedures, as part of a team to ensure efficient use of time, materials and resources.
Requirements

Outline of key responsibilities for the Plumber:

  • A Full Manual UK Driving License
  • City and Guilds Craft Certificate in Plumbing or equivalent (NVQ Level 2)
  • Experience of working competently in all disciplines normally expected of a qualified Plumber in building repairs and maintenance
  • A commitment to providing a productive, high quality and reliable service
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Experience of maximizing the number of jobs and repairs completed in one visit
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and its impact on building repairs
  • Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to accurately complete job tickets, timesheets and related information

  • 27 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) + bank holidays
