A Teleport Staff Solutions Engineer - AI Specialist is highly technical and customer-facing. This role is designed for individuals who thrive at the intersection of deep engineering expertise and business value articulation. You will partner with account executives, account solutions engineers and other teams to understand customer challenges, design secure and scalable solutions, and guide prospects through technical evaluations and proof‑of‑value engagements. You will get to collaborate with infrastructure engineering and security teams at the most sophisticated technology companies in the world. Most importantly, you will help these companies solve problems and get exposed to the latest ideas in technology.

We are looking for a customer‑facing Staff Solutions Engineer who has experience working with AI technologies and infrastructure (LLMs, MCP, vector databases, AI tooling), and familiarity with traditional infrastructure networking and security (Linux/Unix, Windows, VPNs, bastion hosts, etc) and modern cloud‑native technologies (cloud compute, containers, IaC, etc).

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with Account Executives and Account SEs to expand technical discovery, and map Teleport’s capabilities to customer initiatives.
  • Architect and deliver compelling demos and proof‑of‑concepts that showcase Teleport’s differentiation in Zero Trust access, handling of human and non‑human identities, identity governance, and identity security.
  • Act as the trusted advisor to engineering, platform engineering, DevSecOps, and security leaders.
  • Support customers exploring AI/LLM use cases, including secure infrastructure for training and inference workloads.
  • Advise on protecting sensitive datasets and model endpoints with Teleport’s identity‑based controls.
  • Position Teleport as a solution to eliminate API keys and static tokens in AI pipelines.
  • Provide structured feedback to Product and Engineering on feature gaps and market needs.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on thought leadership around Kubernetes, identity, and AI security.
  • Support channel and technology partners with technical enablement.
  • Is a self‑starter with a track record of success in their professional or personal life.
  • Doesn’t mind helping across various go‑to‑market activities, including marketing collateral, product positioning, customer interviews, sales cycle optimizations, traveling to conferences, brand evangelism, attending meetups, etc.

  • Demonstrates a high level of empathy, resilience, and humility.
What You’ll Bring
  • 5–10 years of experience in pre‑sales engineering, solutions architecture, DevSecOps or a highly technical customer‑facing role.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM infrastructure (GPU clusters, data governance, inference workloads, ML pipelines) and associated security requirements.
  • Experience with using/configuring/debugging Linux machines and Network issues.
  • Strong understanding and experience with Kubernetes, including hands‑on troubleshooting.
  • Strong Knowledge of at least one cloud computing platform
  • Strong knowledge of DevSecOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and securing infrastructure at scale (e.g., source control, code reviews, unit testing, agile principles).
  • Advanced understanding of identity security and modern Zero Trust security approaches.
  • Proven ability to develop scripts and automation using Linux Shell, Go, and Infrastructure as Code
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, provisioning, and administration
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders with credibility and clarity.
  • Strong presentation, demo, and white‑boarding skills.

£122,000 - £158,000 a year

The typical starting Total Cash Compensation range for new hires in this role is 122,000 - 158,000 GBP for a level 4, which consists of a Base Salary plus a Target Commission. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all UK/IRE locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
