Job Title: Graduate Mechanical Engineer - UK

Murphy is launching a two-year Graduate Mechanical Engineer programme combining site-based or project-based work with structured training. The programme offers exposure to multi-discipline construction projects across large-scale civil, oil & gas, and electricity upgrade projects as part of the green energy transition in the UK. The scheme includes both technical and soft skills development and access to training aligned with professional progression.

• Support commissioning and site maintenance teams in fault finding
• Assist with resolving technical problems at all levels
• Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner
• Maintain Quality Management System records
• Assist in ensuring equipment is calibrated, in date and checked per company policies and manufacturer requirements
• Ensure the site diary is accurately maintained with date, location and serial numbers
• Help coordinate and supervise Sub-contractors in the Works
• Ensure latest issue drawings and documents are used
• Ensure on-site materials are suitable, stored per manufacturer recommendations and project requirements
• Assist Site Management to update KPI’s, material reconciliation and progress reports

There is an opportunity to move between projects in the UK and Ireland, depending on business needs and project size. You will participate in Murphy Learning programmes and follow the 70:20:10 principle for on-the-job, peer learning, and structured training.

Studying toward an IMechE-accredited Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent.

• A full UK driving licence may be required due to project locations
• Potential to work away from home location within the UK during the 2-year programme
• Eligible to work in the UK with a valid work permit if applicable; sponsorship is not provided
