ThePrincipalOpto-MechanicalEngineerwillleadthemechanicaldesignandsystemintegrationofadvancedopticalassemblies,contributingtothedevelopmentofnext-generationsensorandimagingtechnologies.Thisseniortechnicalrolecombineshands-ondesignleadershipwithstrategicoversightofdesignformanufacture,systemintegration,andenvironmentalqualification.Workingcloselywithoptical,systems,andproductionteams,thesuccessfulcandidatewillensurethatalldesignsmeetstringentmechanicalandopticalspecificationswhileoperatingreliablyunderreal-worldconstraints.

Responsibilities

Opto-MechanicalDesign&Integration

• Leadthefulldesignlifecycleofcomplexopto-mechanicalsystemsfrominitialconceptthroughtoproductionrelease.
• DevelopCADmodelsanddetaileddrawingscompliantwithinternalqualitystandardsandproductionrequirements.
• Definemechanicaltolerancesandconstraintsinalignmentwithopticalandthermalperformancerequirements.

Cross-FunctionalDevelopment

• Collaboratewithoptical,thermal,systems,andelectronicsengineerstodefineinterfacerequirementsandachieveoptimalsystemintegration.
• Driveprototypebuildsandvalidationefforts,supportinghands-onassemblyandtestingwhereneeded.

Performance&ReliabilityAssurance

• Supportenvironmentalqualificationincludingshock,vibration,humidity,chemicalresistance,andtemperatureextremes.
• ApplyDFM,DFA,andDFTprinciplestoensurerobust,scalable,andcost-effectivedesigns.

TechnicalDocumentation&Review

• Preparetechnicaldocumentationincludingspecifications,interfacecontroldocuments,andverificationplans.
• Leaddesignreviewsandcontributetothedevelopmentofinternalengineeringstandardsandbestpractices.
• Providetechnicalguidancetojuniorengineersandactivelyparticipateinteamdevelopmentandtechnicalknowledgetransfer.

RequiredQualifications

• Bachelor’sdegreeinMechanicalEngineering,OpticalEngineering,oracloselyrelateddiscipline.
• Atleast10yearsofexperienceinthedesignandintegrationofprecisionopto-mechanicalsystems.
• Expertiseinopticaltolerancing,thermalandstructuralanalysis,andmechanicalintegrationofopticalelements.
• Proficiencyin3DCADtoolssuchasSolidWorks,Creo,orNX.
• Experienceinenvironmentaltestingandqualificationofmechanicalassemblies.
• StrongcommunicationanddocumentationskillsinEnglish.

PreferredExperience

• Experienceinsectorssuchasaerospace,defence,oropticalinstrumentation.
• Familiaritywithpolymersorlightweightmaterialsusedinopticalsystemenclosures.
• ExposuretoAI-drivendesignoptimisationormultidisciplinarysystemdevelopment.
