We are currently recruiting for a Sterile Services Technician vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at an entry‑level and receive world‑class training to get you on to a defined career pathway.

12 weeks training, the first few weeks you will work on Monday-Friday at 10:00-18:00

Thereafter training, your regular shift hours will be:

• Monday at 16:00-00:00
• Wednesday-Friday: 14:00-22:00 (30 hours)

• Following a highly regulated end‑to‑end sterilization/decontamination process on surgical instruments that have been used in operations in local NHS and private hospitals, to ensure they can be used again safely for the next patient.
• Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, surgical instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
• Rigorously checking, washing, laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
• Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
• Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
• Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person.

• An annual salary of £24,465 (pro rata) plus a 5% performance bonus, and generous shift allowances if you work overtime/unsociable hours! Plus, a higher cost of living allowance if you work in London.

Access to a Level 2 Healthcare Science Assistant Apprenticeship! This is a 12‑15 month fully funded programme studying good scientific practice for the Healthcare profession! It is universally applicable outside of STERIS! Completed on the job, you are given 20% of your working hours to study towards the qualification. Further apprenticeships are available throughout the course of your career!

Educated to a good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.

Basic end‑user IT skills to operate track and traceability IT systems.
