We at Work Lyf Group are seeking a proactive and versatile Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s team in the Meir area. This hands‑on role involves maintaining and servicing a range of industrial machinery, including beam saws, edge banding machines, and other woodworking equipment. You’ll play a key part in ensuring smooth operations, minimising downtime, and supporting production efficiency.
- Carry out routine maintenance and emergency repairs on beam saws, edge banders, and related machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement effective solutions.
- Support production teams with technical expertise and rapid response to breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate service records and comply with health and safety standards.
- Participate in an on‑call rota until 8:00 PM for urgent support needs.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Proven experience in a multiskilled engineering role (mechanical/electrical).
- Familiarity with woodworking machinery, especially beam saws and edge banders.
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Relevant engineering qualifications or apprenticeship preferred.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable).
- Apprenticeship in engineering or manufacturing (preferred).
- Valid UK driving licence (advantageous).
