Key Responsibilities
- Supporting consultant‑led respiratory clinics
- Conducting respiratory assessments & clinical observations
- Managing patients with conditions such as:
- Asthma
- COPD
- Bronchiectasis
- Interstitial lung disease (ILD)
- Post‑COVID respiratory complications
- Pulmonary fibrosis
- Supporting respiratory tests including:
- Spirometry (if trained)
- Peak flow
- FeNO testing
- Providing inhaler technique training & patient education
- Supporting smoking cessation advice
- Monitoring oxygen saturation & escalation where required
- Coordinating follow‑up appointments and telephone/virtual clinics
- Accurate documentation in hospital EPR systems
- Working collaboratively with Consultants, Respiratory Physiologists, HCAs & AHPs
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (NMC PIN required)
- Minimum 1 year experience in Respiratory, General Medicine, or Acute Care
- Experience with spirometry or inhaler education is beneficial
- Strong communication and patient support skills
- Confident working independently within busy outpatient settings
- Ability to manage complex respiratory patient needs
