A regional fire service in the United Kingdom is seeking a committed FSI Practitioner to support children and young people through tailored interventions. The role emphasizes safeguarding, building relationships, and collaboration with external agencies. While qualifications in youth work or social care are desirable, experience working with young people and a strong understanding of child protection are essential. This position offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in the community.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service are seeking a committed and resilient FSI Practitioner to join our Community Safety and Partnerships Department. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people. You will play a vital role in delivering structured interventions, building positive relationships, and working collaboratively with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for those you support.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering interventions tailored to individual needs, supporting young people including those who may display challenging behaviour. Safeguarding and child protection will be central to your work; you will also maintain accurate and confidential records using electronic systems, and promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to undertake required in-house and external training. While a relevant qualification in youth work, education, or social care is desirable, it is not essential. More importantly, you will bring experience of working with children and young people, a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and the ability to manage confidential information responsibly. Experience of partnership working with external agencies is essential, and knowledge of fire safety risk reduction or community safety would be an advantage.
