This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Nurse Associate to join the team in the Surgical Short Stay Unit.
Patients undergoing surgical procedures will be admitted in The Surgical Short Stay Unit and patients having day case procedures will then be discharged later from the same unit. The Nurse Associate will be responsible for admitting and discharging patients as per their surgical care plan and under the supervision of the nurse in charge. Staff will also be rotated onto the Surgical Short Stay Ward, caring for surgical patients during their planned post-operative overnight stay.
We are looking for a good team player and someone with initiative and enthusiasm for the role. We are also looking for someone who puts patients first and provides excellent care throughout the entire peri-operative journey.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse with a focus on promoting health and independence. They will be an accountable professional and have the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual\'s defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when needed.
The Nurse Associate will admit and discharge patients and ensure that all information is given to the patients and their relatives to aid their recovery. The Nurse Associate will work closely with their Registered Nurse and Clinical Support Worker colleagues to ensure consistent patient flow through theatres.
