Job summary
A staffing agency is seeking experienced welders for a temp-to-hire position in Carlisle, UK. The role offers a starting pay of $24.00-$27.00 per hour with shifts from 6:00pm to 6:00am, Monday through Thursday. Candidates will be responsible for various welding tasks, including fabricating metal parts and ensuring quality. Applicants should have stick and wire welding experience, and the ability to read blueprints. The position may involve outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications
- 2-year trade school preferred or equivalent experience (4 years).
- Stick and wire welding experience required.
- Ability to read blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory and submit orders as needed.
- Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting.
- Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts.
- Fasten structural steel members to hoist cables.
- Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces using appropriate tools.
- Fabricate metal parts such as frames and girders.
- Quality assurance of worked pieces for defects.
