To reinforce our material planning team within sales and operations we are looking for a Material Planner with strong analytical skills. Sounds good, right?

What are you going to do?

As a Material Planner you have to answer to one main question: ‘Can we provide production with the raw materials in time!?’ To do so, you play a crucial role in managing the planning activities, will work closely together with production but also have a lot of contact other stakeholders like sales, operations and supply chain.

What are your key accountabilities?

For the planning of raw materials you will:

Analyse which raw materials are needed for the production of feed on the short and long term;

Translate finished goods plans into raw material requirements;

Actively participate in the Sales & Operations process;

Anticipate plans based on ad hoc production or distribution issues

Align with schedule, supply planner or lead in case of availability issues

Adjust planning based on changes in the production schedule or real production output

And ensure an optimal stock policy.

In the execution you will:

Call off raw materials

Optimize use of external warehouses

Place distribution orders between raw material warehouses

Communicate with internal and external stakeholders mainly being production and raw material suppliers;

And check the system parameters and manage the raw materials inventory.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, resolving concerns and evaluating performance

Support Procurement with supplier meetings and negotiations

Manage stocks of raw and auxiliary materials to ensure the availability of stock

With regards to continous improvements, you will:

Not just stick to the existing processes but critically look at the actual way of working;

Evaluate and (re)shape the processes as well as the inventory;

And be highly stimulated to suggest, initiate and make improvements.

We will offer you a fulltime position, 40 hours per week;

Your position is classified in a Nutreco Hay scale;

What we ask

You are a strong, well balanced person who can perform well under pressure. Speed is “key” in this position but it should not influence the accuracy in your work, so you are good at multi tasking and can say “no” if necessary. Besides that, you take initiative, challenge the business and always strive for more efficiency and are not afraid of operational and repetitive work.

What you bring

You hold a Bachelor degree;

You gained 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably as a planner;

You are a number savvy person and an advanced Exel user, familiar with, amongst others, pivot tables;

You are fluent in English (orally and in writing) and Dutch.
