Job summary
A Sheffield start-up is looking for engineering specialists to join their multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on designing and developing cutting edge solutions for various industries. Strong skills in frontend/backend development and programming languages like C++, JavaScript, and Python are essential. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience and a commitment to ethical practices.
Qualifications
- Strong background in frontend and/or backend development.
- Experience writing and deploying production code in one or more programming languages.
- 3+ years experience post-qualification.

We are a Sheffield based start-up providing expert engineering consultancy to a variety of clients and industries. We primarily focus on engineered product design, and work in a range of industries and contexts from biotech and medtech to water and heavy industry. We value drive, culture fit, and a track-record of engineering excellence and above all else, but the below competencies, interests, and attributes are extremely desirable:
- Strong background in frontend and/or backend development
- Experience writing and deploying production code in one or more: CPP, JS, TypeScript, Python
- 3+ years experience post-qualification
Alongside the above, the below competencies will strengthen an application:
- Experience writing firmware and working on hardware projects
- Experienced and enthusiastic in using LLMs and other AI tools to speed up workflows (e.g claude code)
- Interest in beautiful UX and graphic design.
- Familiarity with electronics and microcontrollers
