Join our Power Transmission & Distribution team as a Temporary Works Coordinator to be based in Hull and surrounding areas. You’ll be part of our legacy.

Role Purpose
  • To oversee and manage all aspects of temporary works required to enable the safe construction of projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all temporary works are designed, installed, inspected, and dismantled safely and in accordance with industry standards, legal requirements, and company procedures.

This role will be dedicated to EGL2; an exciting flagship project in the North East that plays a significant role in strengthening and expanding the area’s energy infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all temporary works activities, and coordinate with temporary works designers, permanent works designers, clients, subcontractors and site teams. Ensure all temporary works are planned, managed, and safely executed in compliance with BS5975.
  • Ensure timely submission of design briefs, capturing all site conditions and requirements, and review design output for constructability and compliance with the brief. Ensure all designs are carried out, checked and approved by competent temporary works designers, and issued for third‑party approval(s) where required.
  • Issue Permits to Proceed/Load/Unload to safely manage hold points, ensuring all temporary works designs are implemented in accordance with the approved designs and specification, and are correctly inspected by a competent person before use, during use and prior to dismantling.
  • Ensure that temporary works are erected, maintained and dismantled in accordance with the approved Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS), in compliance with all relevant safety and quality standards, and monitored with regular safety audits and inspections. Prevent, stop and report any unsafe practices.
  • Work closely with Construction Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors and Subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of temporary works with permanent works.
  • Maintain an accurate temporary works register and records of design approvals, risk assessments, method statements, inspections, permits, and compliance checks, providing reports as required.
  • Promote best practices for temporary works and provide guidance and training to site personnel on temporary works procedures.

  • Good knowledge of BS 5975 and CDM regulations.
  • Sound health & safety knowledge relating to site and design activities.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and team‑working skills.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • IT literate, with good knowledge of using Microsoft Office applications.
