The national campaign aims to make poverty a focus of U.S., Canadian and U.K. foreign policy. The organisation has over 20 years of experience in advocacy and has supported the passage of bills benefitting millions in developing countries.
Nonprofit Leadership Programme – a part-time, unpaid remote programme designed to develop key leadership skills for nonprofit management. The programme is 12 hours per week for 12 weeks; if availability is limited, it can be completed in fewer weeks.
- Advocacy Leadership Development — Meet with government members in your District/Constituency; represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events; mobilise individuals to contact their government members in support of poverty-reduction legislation.
- Fundraising Development — Learn fundraising; create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
- Recruitment — Update job postings; inform groups and classes of openings; introduction to recruitment platforms; listen in to interviews.
- Marketing and Promotion — Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast and digital media; utilise social media and develop web-based messaging strategies.
No prior experience is necessary; the organisation seeks people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of GPA or background.
This is an unpaid internship, although college credit is available.
New programmes begin every month; you may choose the month you wish to start.
