The Borgen Project is an international organisation working to improve living conditions for people affected by war, famine and poverty. It focuses on making poverty a priority in U.S., Canadian and U.K. foreign policy. The organization has 20 years of advocacy experience and has supported the passage of bills benefitting close to 500 million people in developing countries.

Overview

This is an unpaid internship that offers insight into leadership, fundraising, recruitment and marketing within a nonprofit context. It is a part-time programme at 12 hours per week for 12 weeks, remote with the option to complete faster if you have limited availability.

Program details
Nonprofit Leadership Programme — leadership and development skills for running a nonprofit.
Advocacy Leadership Development — engage with Government representatives, represent The Borgen Project at events, and mobilise support for poverty-reduction legislation.
Fundraising Development — learn fundraising techniques, create a personal fundraising campaign, and meet targets.
Recruitment — update job postings, inform groups about openings, and gain interview exposure.
Marketing and Promotion — pitch story ideas to media and develop web messaging strategies.

Experience No prior experience is necessary; we welcome people who are passionate about fighting poverty, regardless of GPA or background.

Details This is an unpaid internship, although college credit is available.

Start Date New programmes begin every month; you can choose your start month.
