Overview

The Borgen Project offers a nonprofit leadership internship program focused on advocacy, fundraising, recruitment, and marketing to support global poverty reduction. This is a part‑time, unpaid remote programme that provides insight into leading and developing a nonprofit organization. Start dates occur monthly; you can complete the programme in fewer weeks if you have limited availability.

Responsibilities
  • Advocacy Leadership Development – Meet with government members in your district/constituency; represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events; mobilise individuals to contact their government representatives in support of key poverty-reduction legislation.
  • Fundraising Development – Learn fundraising strategies; create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
  • Recruitment – Update job postings; inform groups and classes of openings; get introduced to recruitment platforms and participate in interview listening.
  • Marketing and Promotion – Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast and digital media; utilise social media and develop web-based messaging strategies.
