Job summary
A leading Construction company in Belfast is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to enhance workplace safety standards. The role involves managing H&S Officers, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with construction HSE standards. Ideal candidates will have significant experience and knowledge of ISO45001 and ISO14001, and a passion for driving a positive safety culture. MCS Group is delighted to partner with a leading Construction company, to recruit a strong Health & Safety Manager to join their team. This is a standout opportunity for a forward-thinking professional to drive best-in-class safety standards.
This role may suit a strong Health & Safety Advisor, with strong experience in Construction to take the next step up in their career.
You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the delivery of Health & Safety Policy requirements, goals, and objectives, and implementing effective arrangements to identify and manage occupational risks.
- Manage two H&S Officers (one Full time, and one Part time)
- You will oversee the monitoring of workplace conditions and welfare, minimising the potential for injury or ill health.
- You will provide competent and professional advice on health, safety, wellbeing, and environmental issues, fostering a sustainable safety culture within the organisation. Additionally, you will play a vital role in governance, ensuring compliance with key stakeholder requirements, regulatory obligations, permits, consents, and company goals.
- Undertake risk assessments and reviews, including COSHH, Environmental impact and Manual Handling and develop subsequent safe systems of work.
- Complete regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with HSE requirements.
- Investigate all accidents, near misses and complaints of ill health etc.
- Implement & develop the sub-contractors' policy and procedures.
Essential Criteria
- Knowledge and experience of dealing with Construction HSE standards, including ISO45001 and ISO14001
- Ability to place HS&E with the wider business planning context.
- Experience of driving an improved Health & Safety culture across the business.
