A manufacturing company in Redditch seeks a Commercial Executive / Commercial Lead to support the commercial management of customer accounts. This full-time role involves maintaining contracts, preparing pricing for RFQs, and improving commercial processes. About the Role
The Commercial Executive / Commercial Lead will support the commercial and contractual management of existing customer business and contribute to delivering profitable, sustainable growth for the organisation. This role is well suited to a graduate or early‑career commercial professional seeking development within a technical manufacturing environment.
Working alongside Operations, Finance, and Business Development teams, the post‑holder will support contract administration, pricing activities for existing parts, maintenance of customer agreements, and the delivery of commercial processes and governance. The role offers broad exposure across the commercial lifecycle and the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement and commercial best practice.
As a condition of employment successful candidates are required to satisfy ITAR (International Traffic In Arms Regulations) compliance and must fulfil the following before commencing this role:
i. Currently hold the legal Right to Work in the UK
ii. Fulfil a DBS clearance
iii. Provide a consistent 5-year UK domicile
iv. Pass Drugs & Alcohol screening at the start of their Mettis employment
Responsibilities
Core Commercial Responsibilities
Act as a key point of commercial support for existing customer parts and contract activity.
Assist in maintaining and applying commercial procedures, policies, and governance.
Support the review, administration, and maintenance of customer contracts, ensuring accurate reflection in internal systems.
Prepare and submit pricing for RFQs relating to existing parts, including cost build‑ups and margin assessments.
Assist in addressing commercial aspects of operational queries, including non‑performance considerations and customer communication.
Maintain accurate commercial documentation, records, and correspondence.
Provide commercial data, analysis, and insight to support informed decision‑making across the business.
Customer & Business Support
Support the New Business team in developing opportunities with existing customers.
Assist in preparing commercial proposals, business cases, and supporting documentation.
Help gather and interpret customer, market, and competitor information to support business planning and commercial strategy.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
Support the implementation of efficient and effective commercial processes.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within pricing, contract management, and forecasting.
Assist in ensuring that all commercial activity aligns with corporate governance and risk‑management requirements.
Quality Responsibilities
Ensure commercial outputs meet required standards of accuracy and completeness.
Delivery Responsibilities
Complete commercial tasks within agreed timeframes.
Ensure pricing submissions, documentation, and commercial responses are delivered promptly.
Cost Responsibilities
Support the identification of efficiency improvements and cost‑saving opportunities within commercial processes.
Assist with cost analysis, financial modelling, and related commercial evaluations.
People Responsibilities
Maintain professional communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Work collaboratively across departments to support business objectives.
Comply with all Mettis policies and procedures.
Business Responsibilities
Act as a professional representative of Mettis when engaging with customers or partners.

Qualifications
Degree‑qualified or holding relevant commercial/business qualifications, OR relevant experience.
Good numerical ability and commercial awareness.
Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (lookups, pivot tables, reporting).
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Analytical thinking and problem‑solving capability.
Experience in a manufacturing environment (forging and/or machining advantageous).
Understanding of contract administration and commercial processes.
Exposure to customer account management or contract frameworks.
Experience supporting pricing activity or cost analysis.
Awareness of commercial risk‑management and governance considerations.
