The Directorate of Medical Education, in conjunction with the Mental Health and Learning Disability Directorate, seeks to appoint an enthusiastic individual to assist in the delivery of undergraduate psychiatric teaching combined with clinical input to a well-established, supportive multidisciplinary team providing input to individuals within hospital and community mental health services.

NHS Lanarkshire offers flexible and innovative ways of working with opportunities to develop staff according to their interests. The post is ideally suited to a trainee with medical experience up to core medical training or equivalent and will be in place until August 2026. The post holder will contribute to a team of Clinical Teaching Fellows within Medical Education in NHS Lanarkshire, with an equal 50:50 split in sessions between clinical and teaching commitments. It is directed by the University of Glasgow via the Psychiatry Undergraduate Lead in conjunction with the Sub‑deans on site.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering undergraduate psychiatric teaching sessions.
• Providing clinical input to hospital and community mental health services.
• Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
• Participating in medical education activities as directed by the University of Glasgow.

Competences and qualifications:

• Medical degree with experience up to core medical training or equivalent.
• Strong communication and teaching skills.
