Job Title: Registered Nurse Associate (RNA)

Location: Linson Court

Reports to: Home Manager/Deputy Manager

Salary: £15.00 per hour

Contract Type: 36 hours

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse Associate (RNA) to join our healthcare team at our nursing home for elderly residents, specialising in long-term conditions and end-of-life care. As an RNA, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other senior healthcare professionals, supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to residents with complex and long-term health conditions, as well as those requiring palliative and end-of-life care. The role involves providing direct patient care, assisting in assessments, administering treatments, and ensuring the safety, comfort, and dignity of residents in line with NMC guidelines.

• Provide direct nursing care to elderly residents with long-term conditions, complex needs, and those in the later stages of life.
• Assist in the assessment and development of individualized care plans, ensuring that these plans address the specific needs of each resident, particularly those requiring palliative and end-of-life care.
• Ensure medication administration follows prescribed treatments and is documented according to NMC standards, monitoring for side effects or reactions.
• Conduct clinical procedures such as wound care, catheter care, and blood pressure monitoring.
• Manage long-term conditions such as diabetes, COPD, dementia, and heart disease, ensuring residents are comfortable and dignity upheld.
• Provide education and support to residents and families, offering information about managing chronic conditions, care options, and advanced care planning.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.

• Completed an accredited Nursing Associate programme (or equivalent) and registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse Associate.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in a care home, hospital, or community-based care environment.
• Background in working with elderly residents and those with long-term conditions, dementia, or palliative care needs.
• Strong clinical and interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and demonstrate understanding of NMC guidelines.
