Senior Care Assistant - St Aiden's/Nevilles Court

Careline Lifestyles is seeking a committed, knowledgeable, and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team at Durham. In this vital role you will support the Nurse in Charge and lead a team of Care Assistants, ensuring each resident receives the highest standard of person‑centred care.

Location: Bearpark OR Nevilles Cross
Salary: £13.02 per hour
Job Type: Permanent / On‑site
Shift: Days or Nights, 40 hours per week

About The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant you will:

  • Lead, supervise, and support Care Assistants to maintain outstanding standards of care
  • Deliver compassionate personal care while promoting residents’ independence, dignity, and choices
  • Organise, coordinate, and participate in enriching activities, outings, and social opportunities
  • Attend MDT meetings and contribute actively to assessments and care planning
  • Administer medication safely in line with internal policies and legal frameworks
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and up‑to‑date records, including daily notes and incident reports
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating individual care plans and risk assessments
  • Support residents with mobility, physical disabilities, and rehabilitation activities
  • Assist during mealtimes, ensuring residents receive appropriate nutritional support
  • Uphold stringent hygiene and infection‑control standards throughout the home
  • Report any changes in residents’ health, behaviour, or needs promptly and appropriately
Essential Criteria
  • Level 3 Safe Handling of Medication Certificate (evidence required)
  • Previous experience and relevant qualifications within a care or medical setting
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach with a genuine desire to help others
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to provide leadership, support colleagues, and maintain high‑quality care standards
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution‑focused in challenging situations
