Job summary
A local educational institution in Chelmsford is looking for a Learning Support Assistant and Midday Assistant to help provide support for children in the classroom and during lunchtime. Responsibilities include assisting with meals, supporting the learning of children, and maintaining a safe environment. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate children. Qualifications
- Experience working with children in an educational environment is preferable but not essential.

Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in providing learning support.

Head of School: Mrs Casey Cox
- Work closely with the class teacher to provide general support for learning
- Have a confident grasp of English & Maths
- Show initiative and understanding
- Be resilient, flexible, patient and engaging
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be able to engage and motivate children to learn
- Work well as part of a team and independently

- Assist children in selecting their meal and sitting in an appropriate place in the dining hall, sandwich room
- Assist children with eating their meal if applicable
- Clear tables when meals are finished and clear up any associated spillages
- Enforce the necessary sanctions for maintaining good order
- Administer basic first aid as required
- Keep daily records of first aid administered, behaviour and sanctions employed, together with any other relevant records that may be needed
- Provide pastoral care, guidance and routine advice to pupils as appropriate
- Lead games and activities with the children where necessary and appropriate
- Alert Senior Midday Assistant and/or the Headteacher of any concerns regarding an individual child or group of children
We are seeking to appoint a friendly, hardworking and enthusiastic learning Support Assistant who can effectively support children with varying needs. Experience is preferable but not essential.
