About The Role

The Senior Information Governance Officer role is responsible for providing advice and assistance in relation to complex Freedom of Information (FOI), Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and Data Protection (DP) requests for information. The post is based within the Information Governance team which is part of Law & Corporate Services Directorate. The role supports the work of the Data Protection Officer and the Deputy Data Protection Officer. This role works across all Council Directorates and is pivotal in ensuring the Council’s compliance with legislative requirements.

About The Candidate

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and customer service skills. You will be required to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing a high volume of time sensitive information requests. The ability to work on your own initiative but also to work collaboratively as part of a team is key. Your role will provide advice and guidance across the Council to all Directorates. The successful candidate will be required to have an excellent working knowledge of FOI, EIR and DP Legislation and experience of working in an Information Governance role.
