Job summary

A local government organization in Cardiff is seeking a Tenancy Officer to ensure compliance with tenancy conditions and provide support to tenants and leaseholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in a housing-related role, strong communication and customer care skills, and the ability to positively handle disputes. This is a full-time permanent position within a busy team, offering an opportunity to work closely with the community in a rewarding environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience using new technology and working with customers.
  • Knowledge of housing law and enforcement experience (advantage).

Cardiff Council aims to provide a high quality, accessible service. There is currently a vacancy for a Tenancy Officer within the Housing and Communities Landlord Services.

About the job

The successful applicant will work within a busy team of tenancy officers.

You will work proactively to ensure that tenants and leaseholders comply with their tenancy or lease conditions, providing advice and guidance to tenants and leaseholders and where necessary take enforcement action.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will have experience of working within a housing related environment and of using new technology; experience of working with customers and visiting them in their own homes would be an advantage.

You will need to have good communication and customer care skills and will be able to deal with disputes in a positive and constructive manner. You should also have the ability to work as part of a team, and able to follow complex procedures.

Knowledge of housing law and experience of enforcing tenancy and/or leasehold conditions by legal action would be an advantage but are not essential
