Job summary

A healthcare provider in Edinburgh is seeking a part-time Orthotist to deliver a patient-centred clinical orthotic service. Responsibilities include managing an Orthotist Led Clinic, assessing patients' needs, and supervising the production of orthotic devices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to patient care and have a collaborative approach. This role requires relevant legal permissions to work in the UK and a PVG Scheme membership. Work Pattern

Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:30. This post is part‑time; salary will be pro‑rata.

Role Overview

Under the supervision of the Orthotics Team Lead, this role provides a patient‑centred, clinical orthotic service to referred patients by:

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for own Orthotist Led Clinic
  • Assessing referred patients’ orthotic needs and prescribing and providing orthotic devices required to meet these needs, alone or in collaboration with other members of the multi‑disciplinary clinic team
  • Supervising the manufacture and procurement of orthotic devices prescribed for referred patients
  • Reviewing patients’ orthotic requirements to ensure effectiveness and safety of devices provided
