Job summary

A regional healthcare provider in Cheltenham is looking for a Clinical Healthcare Support Worker (Band 3) to provide compassionate care to elderly patients. Successful candidates will have extensive healthcare experience and work alongside registered nurses to deliver high-quality care. Full-time or part-time contracts are available. Clinical Healthcare Support Worker, Band 3

The ability to work well with all members of the team is essential. You will need excellent communication skills, be able to work as part of a team and provide excellent compassionate care to our care of the elderly patients at the Cheltenham General Hospital.

Main duties of the job

We desire that candidates have at least extensive care experience preferably working with elderly patients and have completed the Care certificate. Training will be provided for the right candidates.

You will play an essential role in supporting the delivery of the highest standard of quality care to our patients, working alongside registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high quality, compassionate healthcare to patients in accordance with their assessed needs and care plans.

This is a busy role but also rewarding. Your role will include a wide range of tasks, from providing personal care to undertaking clinical observations.

You will be required to follow rigorous policies such as infection control and manual handling policies. In addition you will be providing emotional and practical support to patient & their families and there will be times when you see distressing situations which includes vulnerable, violent or aggressive patients.

You may also assist patients at their end of life and support grieving relatives.

  • Support patients with movement using safe moving and handling techniques.
  • Perform and record clinical observations with competency including blood pressure, temperature, respirations and pulse.
