Moneybox is growing and expanding its app to help people save and invest for their future. We are looking for an Android Developer to help develop and own parts of the Android application. This is a 3-month FTC role which will be 2 days a week in our London office or fully remote from within the UK.
About the role
- We are looking for an Android Developer (Contractor) to join our team which owns core areas of the app and underlying architecture. Each mission works in a fast-paced environment using the Shape Up methodology to deliver meaningful projects to our customers. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop & release features for the Android application.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and data analysts to refine ideas into solutions that our customers love.
- Own area(s) of the application, responsible for all aspects of the product delivery cycle.
- Drive the technical roadmap, propose and implement improvements to our application, architecture and delivery pipeline.
- Mentor and influence our team; opportunity to manage and build effective delivery teams.
About the stack
- Our app is modularised, split into features and written using the latest Android Jetpack libraries. You will work with the latest technologies in the Android ecosystem and contribute to how our architecture evolves to enable rapid and reliable delivery.
- Architecture is organized into single-responsibility layers. Features are built with Jetpack Compose, Android’s modern UI toolkit. The domain layer uses the MVVM pattern and the data layer uses reactive streams to ensure up-to-date data.
- We release the app every week using a release train; your work will be shipped to customers as soon as it’s ready.
About you
- Highly experienced product-focused Android developer. Preferably 3+ years of commercial experience, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin with solid programming fundamentals. Computer Science background or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience creating rich user interfaces and custom components; prioritising user experience and quality.
- Experience working with stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver large-scale projects.
- Experience proposing and implementing large-scale technical improvements; keeps up to date with industry trends and shares knowledge with the team.
- Desire to mentor or manage other team members; ability to support delivery teams and personal development.
