You will be a key member of a collaborative team that delivers on our T Level Foundation and T Level (Education and Early Years), focussing on providing excellent learner experiences through the quality of our teaching, learning and assessment. The successful candidate will have a passion for and a keen desire to deliver key concepts innovatively to inspire our learners to have lifelong careers in this growing sector.

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Programme Lead and Lecturer (Education, Children and Families) to join our ambitious department at Sunderland College on a 12 month fixed term basis. The successful candidate will work in a thriving Education, Children and Families team, which currently delivers a T Level foundation and T Level (Education and Early Years)

This is an exciting time for the team with planned growth and we are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Programme Lead and Lecturer with excellent pedagogical skills and industry knowledge or experience.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high quality, sequenced learning through career focused schemes of learning
  • Provide an excellent experience to students through exemplary learning, teaching and standards of assessment
  • Teach students to high standards using appropriate and varied student – centred approaches, embracing learning technologies to enhance the student experience.
  • Actively engage in reflective practice and contribute to the wider professional development programme.
  • Liaise effectively with the wider support team to ensure appropriate and high-quality academic support is provided as required.
  • Participate in college recruitment and marketing events where required.
Qualifications
  • Level 5 Diploma in Education and training or equivalent, or commitment to complete within the first two years
  • Minimum Degree level qualification in industry specific subject (Education, Children and Families)
  • Level 3 Assessor qualification, or commitment to complete
  • Level 2 Mathematics
  • Minimum of two years industry experience, with up-to-date knowledge of industry standard practice (Education, Children and Families)
  • Working collaboratively with students and colleagues to review student progress, supporting achievement of learning and personal development goals
  • Creating inclusive learning experiences by applying knowledge of special educational needs, disabilities, or vulnerable learners
  • Engaging students to establish standards of behaviour, mutual respect and safe working
  • Experience of taking ownership of a study programme
  • Experience of planning and delivery of inclusive learning sessions
  • Experience of keeping records of student progress against achievements
  • Experience of managing a programme of studt.
