A leading primary school in Chipping Barnet is seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, responsible for SEND and strategic leadership of inclusion. This senior, non-class-based role involves leading the development of high-quality inclusion provision and managing a team while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive educational access for all students. The position starts in April 2026, with responsibilities including safeguarding and team management, offering the chance to make a significant impact on children's learning experiences.
It is an exciting time for Whitings Hill School as we seek an exceptional and passionate leader to join our Senior Leadership Team: an Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, with responsibility for SEND and the strategic leadership of inclusion across our school, starting in April 2026.
This is a senior post within the school’s staffing structure, and the post holder is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The position is non-class based and will focus on SEND and safeguarding.
This job description may be amended at any time following discussions between the Headteacher and member of staff, and will be reviewed annually.
The Assistant Headteacher will work with the Headteacher and senior leadership team and together they will be responsible to the Governors and the LA for effectively leading and managing the school to the highest possible standard.
The main task of the Assistant Head teacher is to work with the senior leadership team to assist in creating, maintaining, reviewing and developing an effective teaching and learning environment within the school.
