Job description
ABOUT THE ROLE

At M-Sport UK, we build world-class competition cars and engines that win on the global stage – from the forests of the World Rally Championship to circuits around the world. At the heart of our success is precision engineering and race-ready reliability – and our engines are built to deliver both.

As our Engine Programmes expand, we’re looking for a skilled and detail-focused Engine Builder to join our specialist Engine Department and help deliver the performance and durability needed to compete and win at the highest level of motorsport.

As an Engine Builder, you’ll be responsible for the assembly, inspection, and preparation of high-performance rally and race engines. Working with tight tolerances and complex components, you will play a key role in ensuring our power units perform at their peak under the most demanding conditions.

The role and responsibilities include
  • Assemble engines to precise specifications using manufacturer and in-house data.
  • Carry out inspections, measurements, and clearances using specialist tools and equipment.
  • Strip, rebuild, and prepare engines for testing, events, or customer delivery.
  • Work with Engine Engineers and dyno team to feedback on technical issues identified and suggestions for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate build records and component tracking systems.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Educated to technician level and have an understanding of engine mechanics and their systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical knowledge with excellent attention to detail and highly organised.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Methodical and disciplined approach to engine assembly.
  • Skilled in multitasking and prioritising workloads under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for problem solving.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in building high-performance engines (motorsport, performance automotive, or aerospace).
WHY US

Operating a flourishing global motorsport business with state-of-the‑art facilities at home and winning performances around the globe, M‑Sport UK provide the engineering expertise behind an award‑winning range of competition cars and has become an industry leader with success across some of the industry’s most acclaimed motorsport series.

The drive to deliver championship‑winning machinery is what excites and strengthens our technical team; and our highly skilled team of Technicians and Engineers work closely through each phase of development to deliver maximum performance on the world stage.

We love what we do, and passion drives our success.

WHAT WE OFFER

Situated on the edge of the English Lake District National Park, M‑Sport UK is unique in offering the fast‑paced, high‑octane, adrenaline‑fuelled action expected from a career in International Motorsport mere minutes from the tranquillity of the Lakeland fells and all they have to offer in terms of recreation and wellbeing.

We also offer a range of employee benefits including: life assurance, a flexible working day, company contributed pension scheme, discounted gym membership, discount reward scheme, cycle to work scheme, company healthcare plan, long service awards, and an employee assistance programme. As well as a dedicated Work Culture Team with regular meetings, competitions and activities.
