A local authority in the UK is seeking a motivated and passionate experienced Social Worker to join the Practice Development Team. This non case-holding position requires a strong background in social care practices such as domestic abuse and childhood neglect. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering training, supervising practitioners, and ensuring high-quality practice to safeguard children. North Tyneside Children's Services are looking for a motivated and passionate experienced Social Worker to join our Practice Development Team.
The Practice Development Team sits within our Quality of Practice Service, which has responsibility for maintaining and developing the expertise of the workforce, setting practice quality standards and supporting the Leadership Team in delivering good effective services for children and their families.
The position holder will be the operational lead for Signs of Safety, ensuring that all practitioners and supervisors are provided with the knowledge-rich, evidence-informed, skills-based learning required to help and protect children and families. In doing so, will have a lead role in linking up with partner agencies to support the needs of the workforce, re learning and development.
This is a non case holding role, and requires practitioners to have sufficient knowledge of the whole of Children’s Social care in order to best support practitioners across the full service.
You will join a small but strong team consisting of two Advanced Practitioners who collectively have lead responsibility in the following areas:
The practice development team have the skills, knowledge and influence to equip a workforce with the skills and knowledge necessary to respond to the needs of the children and young people we work with.
The successful candidate will have up to date knowledge on matters associated with social care practice, which will include the following areas and any others which emerge as service need:
Additional training and development support will be provided to the right candidate in order to broaden knowledge and skill base.
Qualified Social Work Practice Educators are encouraged to apply, however we can also support the right candidate to achieve this qualification.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and an Enhanced DBS disclosure, including Barred List Check, will be required.
