Job description

Our Elan Preschool in Haywards Heath, part of Grandir UK, is currently looking for a 1-1 SEND Nursery Assistant to support, assess, plan and work closely with two children who have identified SEND.

The role is 30 hours per week, 6 hours per day. Working hours to be discussed at interview.

What will you be doing:
  • Act as a liaison between the parents and staff for the individual children after their day at the setting.
  • Keep the children supervised, supported and comfortable in their day at the setting and ensure their activities are suitable and age appropriate for them.
  • Ensure that appropriate Individual Education Plans are in place.
  • Ensure that relevant background information about the child/ren with special educational needs or disabilities is collected, recorded, and updated.
  • Keep up to date with initiatives and best practice.
  • Gain all appropriate training to support you.
  • Contribute to maintaining an attractive and welcoming environment for the children.
  • Read, understand, and implement all company policies, procedures, and operational practices.
  • Maintain a positive attitude at all times with children, parents, visitors, and work colleagues.
  • Attend regular staff meetings, planning meetings and undertake training as required.
