# Administrator (Fixed Term)The Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology is now recruiting a part-time (approximately 15 hours per week), Administrator to coordinate the Innovation Centre of Digital Molecular Technologies (iDMT) who will support the smooth running of the team and related operations.This is an interesting and varied role with a high level of interaction with our academics and research staff.The postholder will be responsible for its financial management, reporting, managing the process of registering centre visitors and providing admin support to iDMT events (liaising with multiple University departments, setting up payment shop with the University Finance Team, procuring catering and other services, managing the organising committees of events). The Administrator will also assist Prof. Lapkin in finance management of SRE group, which is closely linked with iDMT.The purpose of the role is to ensure smooth operation of iDMT as an industry-academic collaboration activity. The role comprise organisational activities (e.g., organising annual conference and summer school), procurement (purchasing for iDMT centre), financial management (creating simplified financial reports based on accounts statements, checking the timelines for issuing invoices, etc), and secretarial support (taking notes in meetings, helping with logistics advice of visitors, booking visitors hotels, etc).The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent level of practical experience and be competent with standard software packages e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as with databases and online programmes. Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills are required with a proactive and flexible approach to your work. Experience in financial management in an academic or industrial setting, of working within higher education in a related area, or previous experience within the University of Cambridge would be an advantage.While there is some flexibility in hybrid working and on hours/days, in-person work is required especially when running events or when business needs requires onsite presence.What we offer* Our Professional Services staff play a fundamental role.
