Sightline Climate accelerates the deployment of climate tech solutions through industry leading data, analytics, and research. Sightline’s subscription intelligence platform gives investors, corporates, and governments the insights they need to confidently build and finance the new climate economy. Sightline Climate also produces CTVC, the industry‑leading newsletter read by 60,000 climate leaders.

We launched our core product in November 2023 and it has gone from success to success. We are now looking to develop it further by adding even more innovative tools and AI‑enabled solutions that empower Sightline clients to make informed decisions in the climate tech space.

Our engineering team consists of a mixture of back‑end, front‑end and data engineering specialists. We're now looking for a Platform Engineer to join the team.

This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role in a scale‑up environment. There are often times when we need to come up with a short‑term tactical solution to deliver something a little quicker than we would like.

We believe in thorough automated testing, every PR must have the appropriate E2E and unit tests, and we own our responsibility for the entire platform.

We’re looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to help scale and evolve the infrastructure that powers Sightline’s climate intelligence platform. You’ll design and build the foundational systems that enable our developers to deliver fast, secure, and reliable software.

• Design, build, and maintain the core AWS‑based platform that supports our data and web products
• Manage our Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and optimal performance
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment
• Create and maintain infrastructure as code to ensure consistent, repeatable environments
• Establish strong observability through metrics, logging, and alerting systems (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
• Manage networking, security, and data services within AWS (VPC, IAM, RDS)
• Partner with engineers to enhance developer experience—streamlining local environments, deployments, and workflows
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues in production environments

• 8+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or similar roles
• Strong experience with AWS (ECS, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, RDS, VPC, IAM)
• Experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, etc.)
• Knowledge of security best practices for cloud infrastructure
• Good communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams
• Ability to work in our London office 3 days per week

• Experience with database administration and optimization
• Familiarity with data pipelines
• Experience working in a fast‑growing startup environment
