Job summary

A growing accountancy firm in Dumfries seeks motivated individuals for the AAT Trainee Accountant / ATT Tax Adviser role. This apprenticeship combines job training with studying towards sought-after qualifications such as AAT or ATT. Candidates must meet certain academic criteria, including GCSEs and A Levels. AAT Trainee Accountant / ATT Tax Adviser - Dumfries

Our training programme brings together both on the job learning and professional qualification studies as part of our high-end apprenticeship study packages. You will work alongside our current apprentices who are progressing through their studies and experienced team members, who will provide you with daily assistance, foster your growth, and support your development.

You will besupported over a3year period where you will gain the AAT or ATT qualification which are sought after, globally recognised accounting qualifications, establishing a solid foundation for a successful career. You\'ll be joining either our Business Services Team, where you\'ll be preparing accounts, bookkeeping or preparing VAT returns. Or you could be part of our Tax Compliance Team, where you could be preparing Tax Returns, calculating tax liabilities or even assisting with tax planning projects with the wider tax team. This is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start a promising career and gain invaluable experience from industry experts.

Successful completion of the full AAT or ATT qualification puts you in prime position to apply for the next stage of studies under our graduate programmes. You will be eligible for exemptions from some exams which means you will be on a fast track to become a Chartered Accountant or Chartered Tax Adviser.

We want candidates who demonstratestrong communication skills, who are driven to succeed with a can-do positive attitude and strong workethic.

Recruitment Process

After the above-mentioned closing date, we will be shortlisting applications based on the set criteria. If you are successful following the initial application stages, you will be asked to complete an online assessment in order for us to assess your numerical and problem-solving ability as well as personality and behaviours.

Should you then be successful following submission of your application and completion of the online assessment stages, you will then be invited to attend one of our Assessment Centres. The Assessment Centre will include a full competency-based interview, a paper-based exercise and a group task.
