Employment Type: Fixed Term

Location: London

What you’ll be doing
  • You’ll produce and analyse GAAP and Solvency II underwriting information using our Annual Accounting Model, turning detailed data into clear insight that supports decisions across the business. Working with Business Partnering, Brit Re Finance and FP&A, you will deliver actuals, plans and forecasts at entity and Strategic Business Unit level, and provide the analysis that helps the business progress with confidence.
  • You’ll provide regular reporting to key stakeholders so they receive complete, accurate and timely annually accounted financial data and analytics for monthly and quarterly deliverables. This will include actual, forecast and plan information together with SII and Economic Balance Sheet technical provisions. You will also deliver underwriting results for inclusion in regulatory returns and rating agency submissions.
  • You’ll take ownership of underwriting values in the P&L for the Syndicate and for our Bermudan based reinsurer and you will produce clear monthly commentary on those results. You’ll work across teams to develop, reconcile and improve the inputs that feed underwriting accounting processes so that information flows smoothly and stands up to scrutiny.
  • You’ll identify and implement automation and efficiency improvements across the Annual Accounting Model and downstream reporting. You will play an active part in the financial controls framework by performing regular reconciliations, addressing exceptions promptly and executing all controls within agreed timeframes.
  • You’ll support the Underwriting Accounting Manager in the maintenance, development, control and operation of the Annual Accounting Model. You will look for ways to improve the collation and presentation of Management Information and you will respond to ad hoc requests on the performance of key operating entities. Above all, you will help us keep performance on track so our clients can face the future and thrive.
