• Prepare variance analysis and commentary against budgets and forecasts.

• Assist with quarterly VAT returns, year-end accounts, audits and tax queries.

Now, we’re looking for a driven Assistant Management Accountant to join our expanding Finance team and support the Financial Controller & Finance Manager. This newly created role will play a key part in producing management accounts, forecasts, and performance reports that help shape strategic decisions and fuel our next stage of growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support the production of monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
• Prepare variance analysis and commentary against budgets and forecasts.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and post journals (e.g. accruals, prepayments).
• Review purchase invoice postings to ensure correct nominal coding.
• Assist with quarterly VAT returns, year-end accounts, audits and tax queries.
• Contribute to budgeting, planning, and financial forecasting.
• Provide weekly KPI reporting and ad-hoc financial analysis.
• Support finance-related projects, process improvements, and compliance initiatives.
• Work with the Financial Controller and Finance Manager to enhance reporting and business insights.

What You’ll Bring

• Actively studying, or looking to start, AAT/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent).
• Experience with Sage 200 (or similar) is desirable.
