Overview

Salary: SCP 24-28 within grade LC2 (Salary starting SCP 24 – £35,412) Full-time (37 hours per week)

Welwyn Parish Council is a forward-thinking and pro-active Council at the centre of a thriving local community. The Council currently holds the Local Council Award Scheme Foundation Level and is working to produce both a Neighbourhood Plan and a Climate Emergency Action Plan.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake day-to-day organisation and management of some of the Council’s services and facilities.
  • Work with staff, councillors, contractors, external organisations, other stakeholders, and the wider residential community (face-to-face, by telephone, e-mail and letter).
  • Attend Council meetings (evenings) and facilitate other events, some of which may be outside the Parish.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • High level of self-motivation and excellent organisational and management skills.
  • Sound understanding of local authority organisations and management preferred; training will be provided, including opportunity to study for the Certificate in Local Council Administration.
Location and Working Arrangements

The successful applicant will be based at the Council Offices, Lockleys Drive, Welwyn, AL6 9NT. Some evenings and weekends may be required to facilitate meetings and events.
