We believe in openness, honesty and collaboration, and we are committed to ensuring that lessons from reviews lead to better practice and safer outcomes. Our team values diversity, innovation and continuous learning, and we offer flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance.

About the Role

As Case Review Officer, you will play a critical role in reviewing cases referred to the Board and identifying opportunities for improvement. You will lead comprehensive reviews into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of adults with care and support needs, working closely with families, practitioners and partner agencies. You will also contribute to developing communication channels that ensure learning reaches frontline staff and influences real change. By maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of national and local safeguarding developments, you will ensure that Oxfordshire remains at the forefront of best practice.

About you

You will bring a strong background in health, social care or advocacy, supported by a degree or equivalent qualification. Your experience will include working within safeguarding frameworks and handling sensitive information with discretion. Analytical skills are essential, as you will need to interpret complex data and produce clear, evidence‑based reports. You will be confident engaging with bereaved families and professionals, demonstrating empathy and resilience. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload independently are key. Experience of safeguarding reviews and working across organisational boundaries is desirable, as is a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • 30day’s holiday p.a. plus bank holidays
